Geelong Vineyard Church is a community of people who love to worship and see the Kingdom come in and through us. Our hope is to be Kingdom people who walk with purpose, reaching the Greater Geelong region with the love and hope of Jesus.

WORSHIPPING COMMUNITY
In Matthew 22:36-37 Jesus identifies worship as our first priority.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with
all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.
In the Vineyard, from its very beginnings, we have made “worship our highest priority, believing that it is God’s desire that we become, first, worshippers of God” (John Wimber).
Worship is key to everything we do in Geelong Vineyard Church. We believe that we are called to live lives of worship to God, and we love to express them in all areas of GVC church life and especially when we come to worship through song.
We believe that when we gather and pour out our love and adoration of God in worship, we experience His presence as He graciously meets and ministers to us.
GVC is a
KINGDOM COMMUNITY
Koinonia is the Greek word that refers to the call of all believers to fellowship, joint participation and a shared life. In Acts 2:42 we see the devotion of the early church “to the apostles teaching and to fellowship (koinonia), to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” We are created in the image of God, who is intrinsically relational. This relational design is a continual theme throughout the bible and exemplifies the specific plan God has intended for us.
We were created from relationship (the Trinity), for relationship. We recognise that we all have a vital and unique contribution to make in the Kingdom community of GVC as we journey together.
In John 13:34 Jesus says, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another."
With the worship of God as our highest priority, we seek to love one another in the way Jesus demonstrated throughout His life and ministry.
Our heart, our hope and our prayer is that all who come through the doors of GVC would experience the unconditional love of Jesus and the generous welcome of the Father through the people of GVC and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
We at GVC believe that all people can come just as they are and find a place of belonging and welcome. We believe that the local church community is God's very good idea, and so we are called to walk together on this journey of transformation into Christlikeness.
GVC is a
COMMUNITY IN MISSION
As a Kingdom community, with worship as our highest priority, we at GVC seek to be a people of overflow. We seek to lean towards the least, the last and the lost (physically & spiritually) through engaging in compassion ministry as Jesus taught and demonstrated.
This is through equipping the people of GVC to be the hands and feet of Jesus in their everyday contexts and to engage in intentional compassion ministry as a Kingdom community whereby as a church we express the love of Christ in our local community.
Missional ministry involves both a verbal declaration of who Jesus is and the practical expressions of loving people. Feeding, clothing, supporting, spending time with the lonely, providing stability for the unstable, and inviting people into our lives (the cross over into community).
Matthew 25: 34-39 says, “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ "
Geelong Vineyard Church is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children in all areas of organisational policy and practice. Geelong Vineyard Church believes that all children have the right to feel and be safe. Therefore, the welfare of children within the organisation will always be priority.
